Nitrous oxide, also known as laughing gas, is a great way to reduce, or eliminate, anxiety and fear related to dental treatment.

Nitrous oxide is safe, effective and very convenient since it allows you to drive home right after your appointment – no need to take the rest of the day off.

With nitrous oxide, you will still be conscious of your surroundings, and able to communicate with us. Initially, you will feel what many describe as a “tingling” sensation, especially in your arms and legs. This is followed by a very relaxed phase with a sense of well being. At this point you may experience certain effects, such as the “giggles”, a feeling of floating, or general euphoria. We do have the ability to change your level of sedation from moment to moment, so if you feel you are getting too much or not enough, a simple suggestion will let us know and we can immediately adjust the flow.
